Once again I am lucky enough to be working at the SFO Tattoo Convention this year! This weekend from the 26th -28th. If you’re in the area please take the time to check this out. Some of the best tattooers in the world will be in attendance tattooing, selling prints, and flash, and machines. Some will even be open to take walk ups! Do yourself a favor and swing by the convention. All the info is on the flyer I’m posting.

Twin Peaks.

If you know me at all chances are you know that I am, and have been for a long time, unhealthily obsessed with Twin Peaks.

Hence :

That’s my left hand after my buddy Jason June brutalized my finger sides.

I Painted a TP pork chop sheet and did a few tattoos based on the show and since then, I’ve gotten to do more and more Twin Peaks tattoos. I love it. I never get tired of these or trying to make new ones. Here’s a bunch from the past year or so. Some are real obvious, some are a bit more subtle, but I had a great time with all of them, and would love to do more. Hope you enjoy.

Roses.

Posted in Uncategorized with tags , , , , , , , , , , , , , , on October 23, 2012 by laughinghyena

For the past few years I’ve been working on drawing roses increasingly weirder, but still based on real roses. More and more deconstructed, kind of like how I treated letters when I was a graffiti writer. Leave essential parts intact, while abstracting the image as a whole. I don’t know if I’m going anywhere with this, and I’m certainly not saying I’m doing some super original new dance or anything, I mean I’ve seen plenty of people do angular roses, but I’m trying to make something happen with these that feels like mine. Here’s a few examples. Again, in no particular order of when they were done, plus some process shots of doing one of these on a good friend, and fellow tattooer, Noah Moore’s head. Hope you enjoy.

More tattoos.

On Raleigh.

On Aron.

On Mike.

I used a antique typewriter that I own as reference. Bad pic. Curve of the thigh makes it look warped but I swear that shit is straight.

Time and Tides.

Did this on my friend Michael. I’ve tattooed him like 5 or 6 times. He just recently got back from deployment overseas and I was psyched to see he was OK.

Under the influence of Clowns

Posted in Uncategorized with tags , , , , , , on January 24, 2010 by laughinghyena

I’m a huge fan of clowns. Not the gay ass ICP/Wicked/killer clowns type of clowns. Circus clowns. I fucking love the circus for one, and for two seriously, I love clowns. Which is a tremendous pain in the ass since most of the free world hates clowns. Thanks Poltergiest! Assholes.

Aaaaaaaaaaaanyway. I’ve been working on some newer stuff that is influenced by harlequin clowns. I mean, not like super directly, but it is. I’ve been doing these new owls that I’m hoping will continue to develop as I continue to explore this stuff.

This was the first one. Yep, that’s a birdcage crown. I sold this up at that Montreal Convention. And then two hours later I tattooed this:

I think it came out pretty cool. A few weeks later I tattooed this one on my friend Allyson:

and about two weeks later I did this one on my friend Toby:

And then a month or so later I did this one on my buddy Raleigh:

That was the last one I did. I’m pretty happy with the progression of them, and there are a few on deck right now in various stages of development. I can’t wait ’till I get to do another one. There are also some other imagery I’m pushing through the same filter. We’ll see if that pans out. Meanwhile all clown photos can be emailed to me at oldtimeyron@yahoo.com
